A cool modern kitchen/dining space. The clients wanted to add an extension to the property for extra cooking space and a light filled social place for hosting friends & family. Early on we discussed ideas to maximise the space, the extensive structural steel beams were required to create the open plan space, we painted the beams the same colour as the kitchen units to avoid chunky bulkheads and create a sense of higher ceilings. This aspect paired well with the vaulted section of ceiling where the 2 Velux windows were added for additional light & ventilation.
Other features included the sliding aluminium doors with a glazed apex to add extra light and connect the inner and outer areas. To assist with that connection, we raised the external patio area to allow the porcelain floor tiles to flow through at the same level. Under floor heating was added to the new and existing part of the house. The luxury kitchen was designed and installed by Heart of Home. Maltings Antique bricks were used with a white/lime mortar to provide a stand-out finish externally.
