Home addition in the CO3 area of Colchester comprised of a single-story rear extension with a structural steel opening to connect the existing kitchen space to the new dining room extension.
The client and architect were brave with their design choices from day one. You can see from the images the existing cottage was a yellow render finish, but the clients hoped for a stand-out extension to add a contemporary feel to the cottage. We worked closely with the client in the pre-construction phase to select material samples that would achieve their wishes and the final product done it justice.
Some of the main building features were the parapet walls, black aluminium doors & windows, plus the classic brick with a white/lime mortar. Internally, the exposed brick wall, column radiators and Karndean flooring added the finishing touches.
